Prof. Larissa Davies

Prof. Larissa Davies, Sheffield Hallam University, UK

Prof. Davies is Professor of Applied Sports Economics at Sheffield Hallam University (SHU).  She specialises in measuring the societal impact of sport and physical activity.  Specifically, her work focuses on valuing the economic and social impact of the sector, using a range of methods including Social Return on Investment (SROI).  Her research is both multidisciplinary and applied.  She works at the interface between academic and practice, regularly engaging with policy makers, industry partners and funders of sport, nationally and internationally.   She served as the SHU Research Excellence Framework (REF2022) coordinator for Unit of Assessment 24: Sport and Exercise Sciences, Leisure and Tourism. She is Chair of THiNKactive Scientific Advisory Board.

Prof. Davies is leading an International Task Force for the development of an International Consensus on SROI Modelling, a key strategic project supported by EuropeActive President´s Councils.
